Aveyond 1 is the first is a series of games from Aveond Studios that are all based in the same world with some but not all of the same characters. This means that some characters will return from game to game while others will not. This also means that the world will grow and change with each game, allowing the player to see this with each title almost in real title. The characters themselves also grow and change over the course of the series of games.

Each game does have different main characters and today I'm focusing on the first game in the series. Now fans of the series might like to say that this isn't the first game in the series, and that is because there is a prequel game that helps to explain some questions that players of this first game will have so I would recommend that after playing this one don't go right to the second one, but acutally go and play the prequel. Now that all of that is out of the way, below is a picture of the world as it is in the first game.

This is the world that the player as Rhen gets to explore and fall in love with during the game. Rhen comes from a simple family only to get kidnapped, sold as a slave, and then pardoned because she has very powerful sword magic. The player gets to meet a colorful cast of characters from a vampire to a paladin whom doesn't believe in magic over the course of the game. The player also gets the option to buy a house in the game and even set up a romance between two party members. There is so much to do, oh yeah along with saving the world and passing the final exam to become high sword singer.

Saving the world might be the 'big event' of the game, but it is much more a coming of age story for the cast of characters that you as the player meet along the way, as you are able to see them grow. You have the option to switch whom your lead party member is and while inside the house that you buy, you can talk to different party members to see just how they have grown or how they feel about other party members. This is a unique and interesting feature to have in a game, along with items that you can only buy as certain members of the party.

The battle system is turn-based like that of many old school rpgs, but what sets it apart is the fact that no party member has the same set of skills. You as the player will need to think, and in turn level up those that will work better in certain aheads or boss fights. You can also completely miss certain characters after certani points in the game, so this game requires you as the player to always be thinking. Below is a picture of the basic battle system.

The music is beautiful for the game, taking you to each place but it also takes you back to the simpler days of video games. The graphics also do the same as they are done in the old style of top-down 3d-ish/2d-ish graphics. While you as the player can feel that you are in the world, you are still reminded of older times when not everything needed to be the best graphics-wise to be the best game. Below is a picture of the graphics.

The game has even now ben ported to mobile it seems, as lots of games have been these days. There isn't a lot negatively.

that I can say about this game other than just like rpgs of old days, sometimes you just have to grind to get those levels to beat that boss. Other than that, this is a wonderful game, just are the other games in the series.

My score for this game is a 4.5/5.
